How can we help you?
For years, the marine industry has been facing increasing demands. Rising waste disposal costs, strict environmental legislation such as the MARPOL directive introduced by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) on exhaust gas treatment, the requirement to install ballast water treatment and the effect of shorter port laytimes, all contribute to add competitive pressure.
Pumps that operate reliably, are energy-efficient and easy to maintain within the narrow service time windows whilst the ship is in port are essential. The diverse applications onboard include handling of bilge water which requires a pump with low shear characteristics to prevent emulsification of the oily water, wastewater treatment with pumps able to handle highly viscous products with high solids content, as well as food waste, drilling mud, brine, urea and various chemicals.
SEEPEX pumps are well known in the marine industry for their ability to meet the most stringent requirements and are used in diverse applications in vessels ranging from military carriers, cargo ships, cruise liners and super tankers to offshore supply vessels.
Our standard BN range pumps convey low to highly viscous products, with or without solids. They are ideal for applications such as drilling mud where space is restricted and for transferring bilge water to oily water separation equipment.
Waste and dewatered sludge on board vessels are pumped with our standard BN and open hopper T range pumps.
Our MD range dosing pumps handle highly viscous, aggressive and corrosive media, with or without solids, such as caustic soda, urea and waste oils with high accuracy and minimal pulsation.
SEEPEX pumps of the BN and open hopper T ranges and macerators are used to handle flowable to highly viscous non-flowable products for the environmentally friendly treatment and disposal of waste and wastewater on board.
SEEPEX low shear pumps are used to feed separation equipment with bilge water, which may contain products such as oil, detergents and various chemicals without emulsifying the product.
SEEPEX pumps from our MD range are used for chemical dosing and treatment of ballast water.
Our pumps are used in scrubber systems for the removal of NOx and SOx and to accurately dose urea and caustic soda and circulate magnesium hydroxide slurry.
In the recycling of oil sludge, our pumps are used to feed the incinerators.
In cargo ships, for example, our standard BN and semi-submersible E range pumps are used to load and unload thin to highly viscous and abrasive products including those with solid content such as calcium carbonate and titanium dioxide.
Food waste and galley water are transferred using SEEPEX standard BN range pumps.
SEEPEX standard BN range pumps, with an optimised stator design to overcome space restrictions, are used to optimize liquid mud.
In cruise ships with microbreweries, our open hopper T range pumps with auger feed systems transport the spent grain within a closed pipe system.
